All my life, I can remember having the same dream….I’m wandering through a big, old home and find some hidden room inside. Fast forward to 2001 and I start to make my dream a reality. I leave the 8-5 corporate world behind to start a new career and become a real estate agent. Twenty-five years later, I still get excited to work with clients that are seeking out these historic beauties to sell or buy. 9 years ago, I finally took the plunge and bought one myself – a gorgeous 1904 Edwardian in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. My years of experience in the field have taught me how to help clients not only identify potential pitfalls in a purchase, but also how to consult with owners and sellers on how to restore or update them appropriately so that they continue to be seen as assets that maintain and grow in value and educate potential buyers so they’re not afraid of them. Selling an old or historically significant home MUST be marketed differently than any other. It’s a bit of an art form that I have acquired over the years that yields success for both the sellers and the new owners.  I have had the pleasure of participating in the sale of dozens of these distinguished residences.

One cannot simply buy an old home, it’s a lifestyle. It becomes your hobby, your baby, your passion and you, in turn, get the privilege of becoming part of its history.
