About Dory Skemp

Having grown up in NJ and CT, I have been living in Rhode Island and surrounded by incredible historic homes since the 1970s. Am currently living in a house that was originally an old cooper shop (circa 1800) which by 1837 had a Greek Revival addition added to the front. There’s even a late 18th century schoolhouse that somehow landed in my rear garden maybe 100 years ago! Because of all things being historic around me, I went to Roger Williams University back in the 1980s and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Historic Preservation. Since then I’ve served on various historic boards, been president at a local historical society, and chair of a local historic district commission. And I bring all this knowledge with me as a Realtor when listing a historic house for sale. It’s been interesting and exciting for me and I still love it… ove meeting new people and love going into one more historic property. I even like basements!
