Dimitri Makedonsky came upon these lovely properties while on a motorcycle ride in 2004. As he entered the town, he was drawn to a beautiful historic bank on the north side of the highway, and immediately pulled-over to take a closer look. This life-changing ride led to the purchase, renovation and development of his wine bar (Ladora Bank Bistro) that still operates under a new name: Caucus Bistro. After 11 years of operation, Dimitri has decided to sell all of his Ladora, Iowa properties including the nationally historic Ladora Savings Bank building (Caucus Bistro), another bank across the street (Farmer’s Savings Bank) and his lovely, eclectic residence (American Legion Building).
