Cricket Bedford

Realtor at Thomas & Talbot Real Estate

A native of Upperville, Virginia I was lucky enough to grow up on a 300+ acre cattle farm anchored by a wonderful mid to late 1800’s Georgian home. Raised around clanking radiators, creaky hardwood floors and no AC was just something I thought everyone had experienced. Now in my 18th year in the real estate business, I quickly learned otherwise. It takes a particular type of home owner to love and enjoy an antique home. Thankfully, we have many of these magical homes to chose from and in all price ranges around the Middleburg area. A bit about my background. I attended our nearby elementary school (the Hill School K-8), and went to an all girls high school called Foxcroft School here in Middleburg. I continued on to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (Go ‘Hoos!) and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Rhetoric and Communications. And yes I love horses. I was raised within a horse-oriented family lead by my late father, Erskine L. Bedford, who served over two decades as Master of the Piedmont Fox Hounds and was co-trustee of our nearby races course called Glenwood Park – which hosts five steeplechase race meets throughout the year. I am an active member of many equine related associations which include; the Virginia Fall Steeplechase Race Board, the Virginia Steeplechase Association (VSA), the Museum of Hounds & Hunting, the Masters of Fox Hounds Association (MFHA) and the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show. I continue to ride today as an active member of the Piedmont Fox Hounds. My other passion, which draws upon an appreciation of history, is my involvement with many local conservation and preservation organizations such as the Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC), the Goose Creek Association, the Route 50 Corridor Coalition and Loudoun County’s Beaverdam Creek Historic Roadways District. Other random facts about me include that I recently retired as the head varsity field hockey coach at The Hill School where I coached since the fall of 2002. Before that I coached the varsity field hockey team at Foxcroft School from 1994-2001 and took the team to the school’s first-ever Virginia State Championships. While I attended the University of Virginia, I was a walk-on member of the University of Virginia’s Women’s Division 1 Field Hockey Squad from 1985-1987. Finally, I am a member of the Greater Piedmont Area Association of Realtors (GPAAR), the National Association of Realtors (NAR), and the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS). I have been a licensed Virginia sales agent with Thomas & Talbot Real Estate in Middleburg, Virginia since 2001 with a consistent annual sales record of over $10 Million for last 5 years. This past year I was the leading sales agent in the entire Middleburg area with an annual sales record of over $35 Million.
