The Parker House

The Parker House at 52 Salem St. Reading, MA was recently sold and is now being slated for demolition by Aug 1st.

The owner is offering it for FREE to whomever can move it.

It’s a big house with an annex, being used as a two-family.

This 18th century timber frame house has been featured in an issue of The Decorator Journal of the style of early American decorations concerning the likelihood of a mural and stencil floor being painted by Rufus Porter.

There is a wealth of information about the history of this house. Much of the original woodwork, flooring, hardware and hearths still remain. It is on the National Historic Register.
