The house is a timber-framed 6,446 square foot Italian Villa style two-story house on approximately 4 acres. Nine second floor balconies enhance many of the windows. The house retains nine original fireplaces, plaster-molded ceilings, six staircases and  a four-car tandem garage.

On the interior, a center entrance hall runs through the building, opening onto a double fireplace parlor, library and music rooms. Four bedrooms and 1 bath are on the second floor. There are an additional 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms in the servant’s quarters

The main part of the Myrick-Palmer-Ward house is so original many people would say it is uninhabitable. Modern comforts are available in the servants quarters which have been updated.

In 173 years this house has been owned by only three families. The Myricks built it. The Palmer-Ward family lived in it in Grand Style and the present owners preserved it as a 19th century time capsule for over 40 years.
