Description
Property Overview
The Fitzgerald Pillars is one of the community’s oldest and most recognizable properties. Located in downtown Fitzgerald, Georgia, this iconic property has served as the setting for many of the region’s fondest memories, including countless weddings, class reunions, high school proms, Christmas parties, family reunions, and more.
Built as a private residence in 1905, the home received its signature facade of brick steps and white columns in 1918. In the 1950s, the Fitzgerald Elks Club added the grand Ballroom, and the building has served as the town’s primary gathering place ever since.
Because of its large and diverse footprint, this property is uniquely positioned to serve as both a beautiful residence and a source of passive income.
The Fitzgerald Pillars underwent significant property-wide renovations in the early 2010s, during which its aesthetics and infrastructure were fully restored.
The Property Today
- Building #1. A two-story Neoclassical landmark. The bottom floor operates as an event venue, anchored by its grand Ballroom. The Ballroom is paired with an ornate front Gallery and sun room used to host smaller events or provide an elegant entryway into large events. The bottom floor also consists of a commercial kitchen (including a working vent hood), a prep kitchen, and ample additional space for storage or miscellaneous use. The upper floor holds two large rental units, one residential and one commercial.
- Building #2. A separate, two-story barn-style building that was constructed by the previous owners in the early 2010s. It is fully equipped for professional bar service and is accompanied by a covered outdoor stage. This building and the stage are used for regular live music events and private event bookings.
About Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald was founded in 1895 by Union veterans as a conciliatory community between the Union and Confederacy. Today, its active downtown is friendly to bikes, golf carts, and pedestrians, and it serves as the home of local restaurants and shops, a working historic theater, and some of the town’s original homes. Fitzgerald is uniquely located such that Atlanta, Savannah, and Jacksonville can all be reached by car in less than three hours.
Other Notes to Potential Buyers
The Fitzgerald Pillars is fully equipped for a future owner interested in using the property as an event space, B&B, bar, and/or full-time commercial rental space. Alternatively, it could be seamlessly outfitted to function as a restaurant, boutique hotel, or a significant private residence. The current owners are happy to discuss which business equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, residential furnishings, bar inventory) is desired and negotiate the sale price accordingly.
Seller financing is available to qualified buyers.
