Built in 1927 by Sherwood Anderson to escape the oppressively heat of New Orleans.  Designed by William Spratling, the house encompasses many design influences of  New Orleans architecture , transom doors and balcony’s.   Marion Ball, a local builder used local labor, stone and timbers for the construction.  Even the walls have a story!
