Disclosures:
Later rear wing has structural issues.
The previous owner at some point tried to create a separate second floor apartment, damaging the rear wall of the post-Civil-War back wing. Ivy was allowed to cover the right side of the rear wall. Its tendrils penetrated the mortar, while neglected rain gutters allowed water to inflict further damage. As the
result, a large piece of the brick back wall simply fell down quite recently.
Extensive repairs, or rebuilding the rear wall, will be necessary.
New roof and gutters needed. Roof leaks have damaged several ceilings. The interior of the main section
of the house needs repainting, as do exterior window frames and doors and the porch and ornamental cast iron porch frame and balcony. Gothic gable and roofline wooden ornaments have decayed and fallen away and need replacement.
Electrical and heating systems are extremely outdated. Any new owner is likely to want to update the bathrooms and the kitchen.
