All my life, I can remember having the same dream….I’m wandering through a big, old home and find some hidden room inside. Fast forward to 2001 and I start to make my dream a reality. I leave the 8-5 corporate world behind to start a new career and become a real estate agent. Twenty years later, I still get excited to work with clients that are seeking out these historic beauties. Four years ago, I finally took the plunge and bought one myself – a gorgeous 1904 Edwardian in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. My years of experience in the field have taught me how to help clients not only identify potential pitfalls, but also how to restore or update them appropriately so that they continue to be seen as assets that maintain and grow in value and educate potential buyers so they’re not afraid of them. One cannot simply buy an old home, it’s a lifestyle. It becomes your hobby, your baby, your passion and you, in turn, get the privilege of becoming part of its history.
