Joe Himali is a native Washingtonian, a licensed DC tour guide, a storyteller, and one of the most followed voices in historic architecture and design on social media. His obsession with old houses began in the 1980s watching This Old House on PBS and has never let go. He has personally owned and restored multiple historic homes, learning firsthand the rewards and the real costs of bringing a building back to its authentic character.
Over a 26-year career as a licensed Realtor in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Joe has made historic and architecturally significant properties his specialty. He is trained by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the sale of historic homes, served as President of the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, and was named GCAAR Realtor of the Year in 2022. Washingtonian Magazine has recognized him as a Best in Real Estate agent every year since 2015.
Beyond the transaction, Joe founded Best Address Media in 2019, a content platform now reaching more than 565,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. His videos bring Washington’s layered architectural and neighborhood history to audiences who are deeply, specifically interested in old buildings and the stories they hold. That audience is the same audience that buys historic homes, which means Joe understands his clients before they ever contact him.
When he is not shooting a video or leading one of his popular walking tours, Joe is doing what he has always done: touring homes, knowing their history, and helping clients find the one that deserves to be loved.
