April Fallon

Hello fellow old house enthusiasts, I’m April. I am originally from Long Island and went to RPI for my undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainability Studies. I really enjoyed my time there. What I wasn’t expecting was to enjoy Troy so much. I started exploring the many coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques and went to the farmers market every weekend. I loved how personal it was going to these small businesses and meeting the owners. It was wonderful to feel like part of the community. During my six years of living in Troy, I lived in a few old buildings around Washington Square Park and loved the architecture of the city. I also lived for a few years in an early 1900s home in Albany. I now own a two family in Waterford’s historic district built in 1884 and have been slowly working on it over the last 2 years. I love being able to breathe new life into a home while still honoring its history. What can I say, I fell in love with the historic downtowns of the capital region and the charming homes and scenery of the area. Since getting my real estate license, I have had the priviledge of selling houses across the capital region and highlighting the amazing history of this area through my videos on social media. I was recently appointed secretary of Historic Albany Foundation and work to advocate for the historic buildings in the area whenever I can. It has been really rewarding to educate the community and my clients on the advantages of owning an old home and opportunities that are available to restore historic buildings in New York.

I have always been a very creative person and love imagining what a home can look and feel like. In every space that I’ve lived I have tried to make it a comfortable and beautiful place. For everyone that I work with, both buyer and seller, I hope to help people envision what a house can look like as their home.
