A Grand Southern Estate, Rich in History and Possibility

Circa 1908 | 17.31 Acres | Sharon, South Carolina

Some places are built for a moment. Others are built to outlive generations.

Behind a stately two-story portico and towering columns, a remarkable piece of South Carolina history awaits its next chapter.

Built circa 1908 and situated on 17.31 acres in the charming town of Sharon, this distinguished Georgian-style residence captures the grace and grandeur of a bygone era while offering the comforts of thoughtfully updated living.

A circular driveway leads to the home’s impressive entrance, where a grand foyer and sweeping staircase set the stage for the architectural beauty within. Original hardwood floors, intricate millwork, gracious formal rooms, and decorative fireplaces speak to the craftsmanship and elegance of the early twentieth century.

With approximately 3,833 square feet, five bedrooms, and three full bathrooms, the residence offers an inviting balance of formal entertaining spaces and comfortable everyday living. A main-level primary suite, sunroom, and beautifully renovated kitchen provide conveniences suited to modern life.

The kitchen features quartz countertops, a generous island, and stainless steel appliances, while updated bathrooms and substantial improvements to the home’s electrical, plumbing, roofing, windows, insulation, and HVAC systems complement its historic character.

Beyond the residence, the property’s 17.31 acres provide a beautiful setting for peaceful country living. Picturesque grounds, a shared pond, and multiple outbuildings offer opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, pursue hobbies, or simply appreciate the privacy and beauty of an expansive estate.

A substantial 50-by-40-foot metal workshop, complete with a concrete floor, electrical service, mezzanine storage, and an additional lean-to, adds exceptional versatility. An RV electrical hookup is another practical feature of the property.

Whether preserved as a beloved family residence, enjoyed as a private country retreat, or explored for other potential uses, this estate offers a setting as distinctive as its history. Any proposed alternative uses are subject to applicable ordinances, permits, and approvals.

Located in York County, South Carolina, with access to the greater Charlotte region, 3628 Rainey Avenue presents a rare opportunity to become part of the continuing story of a truly remarkable Southern home.
