About This Old House

Located in the historic town of Charlton in Saratoga County, New York. The local historical society wrote about this house in 1980: “… is of the Greek Revival period introduced around 1832. It is not known if this house was built by Callen, or whether he renovated the house during the Greek Revival period… In 1919, Lawrence Willie resided here, and to support his income he made, and sold, reed baskets made of local willow shoots. He was fondly called “Willie the Basketman.” www.charltonnyhs.org/hist_house.html

This antique home has much original detail mixed in with appropropriate updates. These details appear to be earlier than 1832 and the house is built into a bank facing a creek. Wonderful built ins, wide board floors, beams, original interior doors and woodwork. 4 working fireplaces. This is an amazing price for a property on 6+ acres in Saratoga County, close to Rt 67 but on a low traffic street & in the Burnt Hills School district! If you know and appreciate old houses, come take a look!
