Watcombe Manor is a two and a half story wood frame residence located on the west side of Stoakes Creek off Haven Beach Road in Mathews County. The drive, lined with pecan trees, winds through farm fields to the stately old home. The façade of Watcombe Manor has a centered front door with a double- height transom of rectangular lights. The entrance is protected by a flat roofed front porch supported by Doric columns and embellished with dentil block molding frieze. Above the front porch is a doorway, centered on the one below, which opens onto the roof of the porch from the second floor. Flanking the front door on the first floor are two nine over six light windows and on the second story directly above the ones below are six over six light windows. The attic has three gable windows with six over six lights. This section of the house is eighteen feet by thirty-four feet with exterior chimneys on each. The property has a Civil War-era cemetery where numerous members of the Stoakes family, the original
