…Lovers! We all know the popular state slogan well. Wouldn’t it be fun to live where history is made? Richmond is known for its creative class and nationally acclaimed advertising agencies. 504 N Meadow Street in Richmond’s Fan neighborhood is not only part of our city’s architectural heritage, but is a part of its advertising lore. It was the owner of 504 N Meadow who came up with the slogan for Virginia’s tagline, Virginia is For Lovers, during a brainstorming session at The Martin Agency decades ago.
In addition to that fun fact, the home is a classic Fan rowhouse with double parlors and a dining room with original hardwood floors, fireplaces and mouldings. The kitchen has been updated into a baker’s and chef’s dream. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, one with two walls of designer closets built by Inspired Closets that is currently used as a “Cloffice” for a work-from-home option. There are two full bathrooms upstairs and a powder room downstairs. The pocket gardens in the front and back were lovingly created for both seasonal beauty and ease of care. There is one off-street parking space behind the brick wall privacy fence. The Fan neighborhood gets an A+ for walkability (Whole Foods is two blocks away!), restaurants, galleries and music venues. There will be an Open House Saturday May 28 from 1pm to 3pm. Should we be fortunate to receive offers, they will be due by Sunday, May 29 at noon. Come to Richmond for a visit and fall in love!
