Bridgewater Hall Historic Inn – began as a thriving estate in “Bridgewater”, NC and was historically owned by the Rust Family. The owner documents this grand home started as a small cabin dating back to 1781. Over the years, additions were made and embellishments were added to make the stately home that stands today. This grand 3.5 private acres boasts 345 feet along the Old Catawba River. The Inn features five elegant bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are master suites. The common areas include the Kitchen, Formal Dining Room, Great Room, and Library. The courtyard, scenic overlook, and the covered chapel shelter welcomes family, friends and guests for gatherings. In addition to the Inn, the chapel was revived when the owner transformed an old store building into the chapel. Now the chapel’s use offers so many options! The picturesque Gazebo is a favorite for any occasion! Take a walk down the stairway to the riverbank, nap on a hammock beside the rushing river, skip some rocks, or launch a kayak. The two bedroom cottage is bright and neutral. The quaint detached garage and garden shed offer additional storage. The stated heated square feet does not include the cottage or the chapel and more details are available in the file. This estate is designer owned, of whom will be featured with his estate in an article in Our State Magazine in November 2021. Currently the estate is operated as Bridgewater Hall Historic Inn (see website). Find out more about the history and land use of this unique estate located 5 miles from Lake James.
