The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan made a strategic decision to introduce temporary state regulation of prices for bread and bakery products in order to ensure the availability of key products for the population.
This significant decision was made in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated September 8, 2023 №455, entitled ”On state regulation of prices for socially important goods”. It is important to note that this regulation is in full harmony with the Regulation on the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, approved earlier by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 250 dated November 15, 2021.
The Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic made a statement on the need to introduce temporary state regulation of prices for wheat bread from first grade flour (molded) and bakery products (flatbread) throughout the Kyrgyz Republic. This decision was made in Order No. 129 dated October 3, 2023.
The introduction of temporary price regulation is aimed at preventing possible price increases for bread and bakery products, which will contribute to maintaining their affordability for all citizens of Kyrgyzstan. This is particularly important given the social importance of these products and their impact on the general standard of living of citizens. This event is intended to support and strengthen the economic stability and social well-being of the country.
