Hades

Hades is the god of the Underworld and the dead. He’s a quick-talking, ruthless divine force with a fiery temper and a bitter feud against his older brother Zeus. He’s also cynical, sarcastic, and manipulative.

His wife is Persephone, the goddess of grain. When she was abducted by Hades in a chariot pulled by swineherd Eubuleus, he tricked her into eating some of the underworld’s forbidden fruits (like pomegranate). Once she tasted the foods of the Underworld, she became obligated to spend one-third of each year with him there.

James Woods voices Hades for Disney’s Hercules animated film franchise since 1997. He has also appeared in films like Vampires, The Virgin Suicides, and Videodrome.
