The Adams House was built sometime around 1890 by W.W. Adams, prominent merchant and long time mayor of Edgefield, SC. Classic Victorian design of George F. Barber of Knoxville, TN who published books of Victorian era house plans in the period 1890 to 1910, credited with establishing the architectural formula now called the Queen Anne Style. The Adams family owned the house until the mid 20th Century. In 2008 the home was purchased by Maryland doctor who continued its extensive renovations.
