Built in 1955 by a high ranking Mason’s son, and given to his new wife in the form of ‘a golden key’, I introduce you to my ‘real estate soul mate’; the PurplePalace55. (Sue told me that Ed “put every single brick in by hand, one at a time”, in the courtyard retaining wall, indoor outdoor flower beds, and the raised dining room/wetbar area. She also told me the second Master Bedroom/suite was added about 18 months later to accomodate their mom/in-law. You’ll LOVE it’s monsterous size!!
Restored with minimal ‘updates’ in 2007-10 with new sewer, DuraLast commerical grade roof (warrantied thru 2021), and foundation repair by DuWest Foundations, with a life time transferrable warranty – the ‘big stuff’ is already done. Come on in, feel the positive energy surround you, and change a little paint here and there if you prefer. (But, I think you’d really like to leave the original touch of green paint inside the hallway linen closet – just as a nice surprise for your friends, and to honor Ed and Sue!:)
I’ve loved this house and lived here poor but happy with it’s ’70s redo during 1989-1992, then moved away to the big city. After , moving, renting it out, surviving a (unbeknownest to me) horder, being widowed, and even remarried, I finally got to take it back in 2006, and bring it back to it’s former minimalisitc lines, as well as rescue it from the wrecking ball (and the horder!)
Sadly, it’s just me, now, and I’m out of money to spend on her. I just want to give this home the honor it is due. (Why do I feel ‘dirty’ and disrespected after talking to local realtors?? They just don’t ‘get it’?!:) I’ve rehomed a few dogs in my day, so I’m gonna do my best to find the best possible new ‘parents’ for the PurplePalace, too!
No… it’s not perfect. You may want to resurface the concrete patio, or strip off the oil based paint on the front Master bath cabinets, and maybe replace the patio door glass; but probably not much more. Like I said: The hard stuff is done. If you don’t believe ME, go watch the my before and after video on the ‘webpage link’ in this ad!
