About This Old House
1750’s beautifully restored farmhouse in the village of Hope, RI. Walk to private beach, water, school & library. Access to highway.
The house is the oldest in Hope Village. Everyone tell us how great the house is as well as hearing about the history. The house has been added on in sections. The house is linked to the early settlers of Hope and Scituate as well as to the Hope mill.
The house is very functional with many original and historic features still intact and functional. The upper levels with 10 rooms are part of the original farmhouse. It is the lived in family space. The lower level served as a one room school house with the second floor being the caretakers rooms for the property when it was a working farm. If desired AirBnB ready, presently have a Bed & Breakfast license.
Formal flowerbeds in the rear with wildflowers in the front. Apple, raspberries, grapes and our favorite, that we will miss the most, an asparagus bed which we are eating daily as it is in season. The property sits on 2 ½ acres plus with large field.
