About This Old House

One over one plan with two finished rooms plus attic originally on English basement that held the kitchen. There is a side hall with nicely detailed staircase including tight turn handrail delicate newels and double-leaf entry doors 24 inches wide.
It was quite an elegant house for its time and country location.
On the first floor there are raised panels under the windows found most often in larger structures along with crown molding and dentil blocking under the edge of the roof. The finest touch was a step out balcony over the front door.
The house has mortise and tenon hand hewn timbers , heart pine floors ,trim, doors , windows and pallets of locally burned bricks all in storage.
Documents found in the house date it to about 1850 including Orange County Sheriff’s personnel property tax receipts dated 1855.
There is a complete numbered and color coded system to rebuild the structure with drawings.
This is a PROJECT and there are repairs needed to rotted or water damaged parts but it is a One of a Kind little house !
PLEASE NOTE :
The exterior photos show a center hall two over two house. The original house is the right side and that is what is for sale. The left side was a stick built addition which was not saved.
